EX5 2RQ 273085 I have worked with the NHS for nearly 16 years and am more than qualified to look after individuals in the community. I have worked with the district nursing team, occupational and therapy teams, and the palliative team in the community to ensure that they had continuous support within the community. As a result, I acquired many clinical skills in the process. I also worked on the mental health side and supported individuals with mental health problems in the hospital and in the community, too. In my spare time, I like to listen to classical music, cook, clean, and listen to podcasts about business and politics. I have travelled a little bit and enjoy geography, architecture, and interior design. I have studied extensively and have vast amounts of knowledge on health and social care, nursing, and psychology. This has helped mould me into a good listener. I'm always happy to help my clients in any way that I can.

EX1 3RX 170204 I work with so much affection, competency, understanding, consideration, like what if it was me in the clients’ situation. That is I apply my conscience all the time, trying to make clients feel accepted as an individual and as a group.. That treating them the way I would like to be treated. I have a strong communication ability, which makes it easier to have effective communication with clients; this also is a way of building a trust and connectivity, because if I can accept clients and connect with them it makes my work easier, and building rapport creates a harmonious working relationship, which creates respect, inclusion and good observations strategies, which results in discharging my duty consciously staying under ethical principles. These will lead to meaningful and fruitful results.

EX4 2BL 303617 Growing up i had the passion to care for the sick and people with special needs. This made me choose my career path in Nursing. I completed a Nursing degree in 2015 in Ghana. I care for people with disability, dementia, epilepsy and the general population. I developed a lot of interest in Nursing and caring because I realised that was what my heart desired. I looked after people in their homes especially the elderly as part time job. I realised that bringing smile on the faces of my clients gave me a sense of fulfilment which made me felt like I contribute significantly in my own way to humanity. I worked 6years with the Ghana health service and other non governmental organisations like Anessvad, Marie stopes, World health organisation as a volunteer providing HIV counselling and testing, searching cases of neglected tropical diseases and providing Family planning services. This exposure has made me acquire enough knowledge as a nurse and a carer in the past years. I have worked as a carer for 2years now in the UK working in private homes and care homes. I am Proactive and reliable multitasker with excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise patients need and coordinate daily basic care needs. I am Highly motivated team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and passion for process improvement efforts. I am a family man when not working. I love kids. I use my leisure time for travelling, learning new skills, cooking and playing football. I am very jovial and easy going.

Understanding dementia with alzheimer's society

TA20 2PX 60825 A strong calm sensitive person who enjoys helping adult and elderly people live the best life they are able. Reliable, kind and gentle and able to adapt to the needs of my client. Learns quickly what help a person needs and able to assist them to organise their lives to include trips to beauty spots and tea out. Good ability to liaise with other professionals to get the support they need, whether from gp, optician, dentist, or social services. I can also drive them to appointments. I find out what meals they enjoy most and make sure they have as wide a variety as possible of fruits and vegetables. I enjoy cooking and am able to cook meat based traditional meals and plant based wholegrain meals. When I cook roast chicken, I make many meals afterwards, including soup from the bones. I was brought up on a market garden and enjoy helping in the garden. I love nature and the countryside, music, Art, books, reading aloud, poetry and crossword puzzles. I understand the benefit of going out to sit in nature, a concert, or having friends round, and I am happy to facilitate social occasions and make sure they are centred around the person I am caring for. I know how to be in the background but can also be sociable if invited. I have worked as a student nurse in Brighton hospitals for 1.5 years, as a domicilliary carer in Brighton for 2 years and in a care home in Hove for 2 years and have been a live-in carer for 9 years. I have looked after a gentleman who had Alzheimers, from diagnosis, as his live-in carer until he had to go into a care home because his house was unsuitable when he could no longer walk. His family are happy to give me a reference. I have been a live-in carer helping a woman walk again with rehabilitation exercises given by a physiotherapist. Also looked after a woman after she had had a hip operation, helping with exercises and going for walks. As a qualified Shiatsu practitioner (dip Shiatsu massage) and a Reiki practitioner and teacher of many years, people find my presence very calming and reassuring. I like to laugh and see the humour in most things and am able to laugh at myself. I am calm in a crisis and have done first aid training many times. I worked as a volunteer in Brighton in St John's ambulance service for over a year. I believe that healthy people, if behaving responsibly and testing very regularly, should be able to choose whether or not to have the Covid vaccination, and I am not going to have the vaccination at present. I protect my health rigorously and test regularly. I do not work with people with extremely challenging or aggressive behaviour but understand everyone, especially if they have a debillitating illness, need to express their frustration at times. I do not work with couples now and I am now working one week in 4 or covering carers or family members holidays or unavoidable absence. Thankyou. I look forward to hearing from you, Helen

Understanding dementia with alzheimer's society

DT73TS 65544 I will be available for respite live in care work from mid June 2026 onwards. Currently I am looking after my mum full time. I work on a relief basis so do please message me to enquire? My rates for Bank Holidays are time and half. Other days usual rate. Please do look at my client references for validation of my work ethic. OFFERING RESPITE WORK rather than long term placement for foreseeable. I have 35 yrs plus experience in caring for people with different needs, in a variety of settings. I am looking for respite care opportunities covering carers breaks or extra care support needed as a transition from hospital back home. I also enjoy supporting people who need some support to live an independent, full and rich life. Also available for palliative care support. I have had previous experience in this area and appreciate the need for patience, calmness, kindness and flexibility. My primary aim has been to support people to remain living as comfortably and independently as possible at home, to enjoy life despite of challenges and ensuring the family members are also listened to and feel equally supported in collaboratively caring for their loved ones. I worked for a company that works with service users with Parkinson's for 5 yrs and I trained carers in understanding the particular needs of those living with this condition . I have supported people with dementia, anxiety and mental health issues, strokes, learning and physical disabilities, end of life and much more. For the past 7yrs I have been a self-employed carer working in the community. All my work has arrived through personal recommendations. Recently a client said of me " you are irreplaceable, there is only one Helen!" My care is of the highest standard and tailored to your needs. I am happy to arrange a meeting with you to discuss this in person before agreeing any shifts should that be of help? Thank you for taking the time to view my profile. Any questions you have please feel free to contact me and we can explore options together.
